Fenice Milano is going to trying to get their hands dirty to re-tune what is already a fire breathing monster... The Ferrari458 Italia.
They call it the 'FC6 Competizione’, the F coming from Fenice, while the C6 is the chemical symbol for carbon. The Ferrari 458 Italia is probably the best handling supercar in production right now. With sleek, elegant lines that blend style and function, it is as close to perfection as a car can get in most people's view. However the tuners FeniceMilano have seen fit to try and improve it even further.
The presence of carbon in the name of the car is an indication of just how important the use of carbon fiber was in the tuning process. Thus, FC6 Competizione’s ceiling, front and rear fenders, mirrors and spoiler have been finished in exposed carbon fiber.
The tuner has built a new frame made of aluminum and a better suspension system for the 458 Italia. The car also sports a set of 20 inch lightweight wheels, with ten spokes and a three piece construction. The wheels are a bit wider, allowing for 235/35 front and 325/25 rear tires that have better traction.
Engine changes include an ECU remap for the 4.5-liter V8, coupled with an exhaust system managed by an electronic valve. No word yet on the exact power improvements achieved.
The Standard Ferrari 458 is already a beast of a machine, with a unit producing 560 hp (420 kW) at 9,000 rpm and 540 Nm (400 lb-ft) at 6,000 rpm, with 80% torque available as low as 3,250 rpm. Its engine features direct fuel injection, which is a first for Ferrari mid-engined supercars. According to the official figures, that is enough for a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration of 3.35 seconds.
