I've had lots friends asking me about a certain issue that they're encountering with regards to the installation of Windows 7.
The error code "0xC004F061" What does it mean?
Well.... If you look at the package you bought from Microsoft or any retail store out there selling Windows 7... "What you have there my friend is an upgrade kit." ... Yes! It may say "Upgrade your Windows Vista to Windows 7" on it but it is still capable of performing clean install cause it's still an installer for Windows 7.
The thing is! The Product Key that came along with that package is actually an Upgrade Product Key which means ... when performing a clean install the system will... let's say get confused... The system would simply say "Hang on! Your performed a clean install and your giving me an upgrade product key?" So it didn't really match ....
From what I've learned and I have tried this when I encountered this issue was to just call up Microsoft and just inform them of your problem
"I can't activate my copy of Windows"
They will simply create a fix of some sort to tell your system to accept the Product Key once it has been validated by Microsoft themselves.
So if you encounter this problem or this particular error code? Call them up 1-800-9365700
"Am I advertising Microsoft now? ... I can't tell you how much bored I am for me to be able to come up with this type of Blog... Too serious is boring! :)"
