//:: Honda FCX Clarity

If you've ever wondered what cars will be like in the near future. Well guess no more! Cause I think it has just been answered! The Honda FCX Clarity.
I know it doesn't look as futuristic like the cars we've seen in those movies like Demolition Man (2003), Back to the future , etc.. etc..

The Honda FCX Clarity is an electric car but unlike the electric cars released before the FCX Clarity, this has no battery in it. Most electric cars carry heavy & dangerous batteries like the Tesla Roadster. Yes you are saving the planet for not burning fuel but what you don't know is how much pollution your contributing when you buy one or even charge it. Try to research on how they manufacture the batteries, where they get the materials..your actually forcing manufacturers to destroy the planet for good!

Yes there's the Toyota Prius. It's a brilliant car with a tiny petrol engine and an electric motor. The petrol engine when running runs the car and also charges the batteries (battery again!) of the car. Once the batteries are fully charge the petrol motor will just shutoff automatically and the electric motor will kick in and run the car. It's brilliant to be honest. It's a great mind, the creator of that car. The thing is.... You still have a battery on this car. There is still the danger or getting an electric shock and like what I wrote with the Tesla Roadster the battery manufacturers produces damages on the planet as they manufacture these batteries. And what will you do with the batteries as these cars get old enough not to run? Burn them? Burry them? That's a lot of pollution and waste! That's a battery for cry out loud! You don't just throw them like a piece of paper!

Back to the FCX Clarity. Yes it still has a fuel tank, yes it still powered
by electricity. The FCX Clarity is fueled with HYDROGEN Fuel Cells (Whatever that means... :D) The Hydrogen Cells will be converted into electricity by some wizzerfy doo daa under the hood of this car and then the electricity is then used to power the electric motors of the car. The great thing about this car really is that it doesn't need to be charged every night and suck up all the electricity. Imagine what your face would look like when you get your electric bill. Also, you don't have to service this car every few miles cause it doesn't have any moving part. It doesn't have an engine. You still pull up in the fuel station to fill it up with hydrogen like what you do with your car today. Only this is better cause Hydrogen will never run out. It's everywhere, around us, underneath, it's absolutely all over us.... One of the best thing about the FCX Clarity is whatever comes out out of it's tail pipe. Try to make a guess ... H meets with 2O = H2O .... Oh yes! Water! You can even drink the water coming out of it's pipe. Seriously, they did a demo on that when they released the car in California about 2 or 3 years ago.This is what I call a motoring iconic research. Where it allows us to say we are stepping forward in terms of motoring developments.

Driving a petrol powered car allows you to cover miles and miles of distance and then once you run out of fuel. You simply fill it up that would take about 3 to 5 minutes then drive miles and miles of road again. That's the freedom that you get from a petrol powered car.
So what's the point of driving a car for 10 yards then runs out of electricity and then takes about 4 hours to bring it back to life just to charge it. That's more like stepping backwards to me.

Stepping forward means it has to be better than what we already have now. The hydrogen powered FCX Clarity is it! Drive and Operate it like a petrol car but with less pollution, less maintenance, less to worry. And oh yes I know you'd be asking of it's performance.

Check this video from Top Gear's James May.

Driving along the car at over 100mph(161kph) and all you hear is a gasp of air running through the sides of your doors, it can accelerate from 0 to 62mph(100kph) in about 9.5 seconds. That's what a normal family saloon can do. It's the same performance with less damage done to the planet!

//:: Updates - Ferrari 599XX

As promised! details of the Ferrari 599XX ...

Ferrari has released a whole bunch of shiny photos and new details on its unhinged 599XX, the hypertech track-focused edition of its front-engined supercar. And, quite frankly, that's all the excuse I need to treat you with the new photos they've released.

Just in case you've forgotten, here's the big news on the 599XX: Ferrari has revised the 6.0-litre V12 to put out a massive 700bhp at 9,000rpm. It weighs just 1,330kg, thanks to obsessive use of carbon fibre. It is, essentially, a track-only racer, armed with slick racing tyres, carbon ceramic brakes and a whole bunch of bewildering tech to improve downforce and air flow over and around the car.

Bewildering tech that includes the use of a porous material in the diffuser, and a pair of fans in the boot which channel air flowing beneath the car out through 2 grilles by the taillights. Oh, and ‘synthetic jets' (an excellent name for an indie-electronica band, no?) incorporated into the rear which, along with those mad buttresses, smooth airflow over the surface of the car. It all combines to produce 280kg of real down force at 120mph, and a massive 630kg at 185mph.

You want more tech tricks? How about a revised transmission which now changes gear in just 60 milliseconds? I'm not sure but I guess it's the same gearbox technology they have installed in the F430 Scuderia. Or F1-style ‘doughnut' brake covers? Or brake pads made from carbon fibre? What's that? The price? How does 1.1 million Euro grab you? And you don't really get to properly own the 599XX for that - instead, like the FXX programme, you become a Scuderia test driver, providing data from a bunch of invitation races to help Ferrari develop its future road cars, and getting one of only 15 599XXs thrown in as a garage ornament for good measure. If you're muttering to yourself about feckless rip-off merchants, here's one last stat for you: the 599XX lapped Ferrari's Fiorano circuit in 1m17s, just a second slower than the FXX and quicker than, well, just about everything else bar the Scuderia's F1 cars.
"I've wet meself again!"

ICOHNS - Integrated Clinics of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery

ICOHNS is a group of specialists in the ear, nose, throat, head and neck in Davao City, the premier city of southern Philippines . It is a center for the diagnosis, therapeutic and rehabilitative management of ENT-Head and Neck concerns. We have equipment for real time rigid and flexible endoscopy, and surgery for the excision of small masses in the head and neck as well as procedures unique to the specialty. ICOHNS is also a center for facial and aesthetic surgery. We specialize in the use of Gore-tex grafts for rhinoplasty.

Compared to most ENT clinics in Davao City, ICOHNS boasts of specialists trained in premier training institutions here and abroad. Research and training are among our core values. All of our specialists are connected with major hospitals and residency training institutions in Davao City. Most of the state of the art and major services in the advanced centers of Metro Manila, can easily be availed at ICOHNS.

ICOHNS is a group practice that began in March of 2003 with the partnership of Dr. Gil A. Yarra, Dr. Christine O. del Monte-Dayanghirang and Dr. Veronica F. Magnaye. The group started as a collaboration of the three for the growing number of difficult cases particularly in the head and neck. There was also the requisite for cutting edge and expensive instrumentation distinct to the specialty. With the realization of the need for a modern and fully equipped integrated center, these three pioneering otolaryngologists formed ICOHNS. Starting by pooling in their resources and talents, more modern instrumentation and like-minded members were added to this growing venture.

The group was formed with the concept of integrating individual ENT-Head and Neck practices to provide Davao and its neighboring provinces with a comprehensive ENT center. Dr. Danilo Legita, with special training in maxillofacial prosthesis, joined the group in January 2005. Dr. Homer Matias, following training at Facial Aesthetic Core of ENT Surgeons (FACES), joined in 2007.

//:: Driving an F1 car

How hard is it really to drive an F1 car? Formula 1 is the top most step of motorsport, the pinnacle of motorsport, the most technological sport, etc. and so on... Formula 1 cars are the most advanced cars in the whole world. It also has the most savage and terrifying engine in it. An engine that can rev up to 20,000RPM and when the engine is sitting on idle mode it's already screaming at 6,000RPM. 6,000RPM!!! sitting down doing nothing but spin it's drive shaft 6,000 times per minute! Can you imagine how hard it is to control the clutch with your fingers behind the steering wheel and your foot controlling a very powerful engine?

Formula 1 drivers are the best in the business, in the whole world! They're unique! A group of people who has the skill to tame such a beast! They have the quickest reflexes, strongest neck muscles, tremendous skill for feeling the grip of the tires, the skill to be able to push a car to it's limits....

I could go on and blabbbbb about what Formula 1 is, the F1 car and the drivers and the teams who spends billions a year just to earn the top step of the podium... but I won't do it for now cause you'd be bored reading it ....

A few days ago Renault held a roadshow "Car show" in Dubai. Where they featured mainly they're Formula 1 car which they used to compete in the 2008 F1 season, the Renault R28. I was following the road show and was reading about news and happenings and the drivers around to show of the real power of the F1 car. Nelson Piquet, Jr. who is a current driver of the Renault F1 team now competing in the 2009 season along side 2 time world champion Fernando Alonso. Roman Grosjean was also there to drive the R28 in front of the crowd in Dubai....... One of their many shows and events was to show everyone how an F1 would easily out accelerate road cars. They chose the Dubai Autodrome for this venue where they will set a drag race with their R28 against a road car. Which road car?
Hmmm good question.. It's not a Honda civic or any other road car you might have in your mind. They placed it on the line againts a super car! particularly the Ford GT40! A road legal car that's capable of doing 205MPH (330KPH). A road legal car that has an engine that produces 550hp! To be honest, that's not where I was really surprised with Renault. The biggest question I have was.... Why did they not put a real F1 driver when they planned to raced it? I mean during the demonstration. The driver only have to drive the car around a car park and burn some rubber and all that smokeyyy stuff and let their real f1 driver do it... and yet when they planned to race the car they did not!

Renault R28 (Fernando Alonso, during the 2008 Singaporean GP)
2006 Ford GT40

Remember when I asked ... "How hard is it really to drive an F1 car?" ... well watch this video first ...

Mohammed Bin Sulayem! One of the greatest in Rally Racing. He has won more FIA(Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) regional championships, and more international rallies, than any other racer in history. This guy has already lots of medals and trophies under his belt and yet ... look at the video again. The F1 car has a colossus engine! Even from a standing stance and get it moving. The video showed how hard it is to control an F1 car mainly for it's power. You just can't get inside the cockpit and turn the engine and drive it! No!!!! You even need at least 16 highly skilled ENGINEERS just to prep it up and then start the engine. Driving it is a different story!

That is why most F1 drivers has started their driving career since they where 6 to 8 years old. They already compete in Karting race series' as early as 8 years old. Move to higher ranks with bigger cars and more power... until they've proved it that they are champions in lower series' before they can even drive an F1 car. Then again! Winning a race in F1 is also a different story. You are competing against the worlds best drivers. Drivers who are able to control the car going through corners at speeds more than 150MPH (240kph).

"So.... wanna be an F1 driver? Nope, Too late man!"

//:: Jay Kay's garage

Jay Kay is one of those singers that I like for his different style in music. If you don't know what I'm on about. Search for Jamiroquai. Yes! Jay Kay is the front man and vocals of the band Jamiroquai. He's got this sosy funky and edgy style of singing and also his music is quiet different and I like the style.

Jay Kay also is a big petrol head. He actually holds the current lap time on the Top Gear test track with the Top Gear's reasonably priced car which is a Chevy Laceti. But anyway, Jay Kay as a big petrol head has quiet an expensive meaty garage in his house. He owns quiet a lot of exotic cars and is a big Ferrari fan. He owns a Ferrari F40, F50 and even his favorite, the Black Devil as he calls it, The Ferrari Enzo!

Here's a video of Jay Kay taking Tiff Needle and Vicky Butler-Henderson for a little tour around his own garage.
